Bachelor of Science, ‘04

Jose Rodriguez graduated in December of 2004 with B.S. in Aviation Science and Administration. He currently works for Riley Aviation, Inc., a private air charter and aircraft services company based out of Sturgis and Kalamazoo, MI.

Rodriguez is Riley Aviation’s Business Analyst and Information Officer. He is in charge of developing and updating company operating manuals, coordinating communication between departments and providing managerial support. Along with Riley Aviation’s CFO and accountants, Rodriguez analyzes expenditure, financials, and operational reports to develop business plans and expansion strategies.

Aviation has been Jose’s lifelong passion. Originally from Venezuela, Jose came to Michigan in 1999 as an exchange student and enrolled in WMU’s College of Aviation the following year. While at WMU Jose became involved with the GoWMU Portal Advisory Board, where he advised the board on the policies that would govern the WMU new Internet portal and provided the board feedback from students. Today, he splits his time between Sturgis and Kalamazoo and is currently working on obtaining his private pilot license through Riley Aviation’s flight school.

“Working at Riley Aviation has been a great experience” says Jose. “It’s a great feeling being able put to practice the knowledge, skills and experience I obtained at WMU. Every day is a new learning experience.
